MPs of the two caucuses have called on both the public and politicians not to misuse the tense situation in order to spread hatred and to reject any form of violence.

Bratislava, May 17 (TASR) - The 'Slovakia' and 'For the People' parties will take part in the meeting of leaders of parliamentary parties initiated by President Zuzana Caputova and president-elect Peter Pellegrini, 'Slovakia' spokesman Matus Bystriansky has informed TASR, adding that MPs from these parties will ask for their proposals to be withdrawn from the agenda of the current parliamentary session.

MPs of the two caucuses have called on both the public and politicians not to misuse the tense situation in order to spread hatred and to reject any form of violence. "We're urging especially the politicians who feel the need to blame the other side even in this serious situation, to stop doing so and not to score cheap political points," said Bystriansky.

Caputova and her successor Pellegrini announced on Thursday (May 16) that they would invite the leaders of all parliamentary parties to the Presidential Palace in a move aimed at renouncing violence and calming the situation following the assassination attempt on Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD).
