Bratislava, May 30 (TASR) - Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) on Thursday underwent additional medical check-ups based on a decision made by his medical team, and this confirmed that his condition is developing in a positive way, the Roosevelt Hospital in Banska Bystrica posted on a social network on the same day.

The hospital further announced that the process of rehabilitation has now begun.

Fico suffered multiple gunshot wounds following the government's away-from-home session in the town of Handlova (Trencin region) on May 15. The gunman, a 71-year-old man, was remanded in custody by the Specialised Criminal Court.
